Coalition Operations
Annual Planning: leadership consults with membership to select areas of focus for impact teams and stakeholder groups for advisory panels. Membership approves at the summer quarterly convening.
Impact teams refine their agendas and meet monthly virtually to drive forward their work, identifying questions for stakeholders
Advisory panels our leadership team identifies existing forums that include the identified stakeholders, and we go to attend those meetings to both listen and solicit feedback on the work of the impact teams
Quarterly Convening: all come together to align on the big picture. Opportunity to showcase our work to people in positions of power
Periodic Updates: we share periodic updates about our work to our members and other interested stakeholders via email. You can find a running history of these here.
Who Makes Decisions?
The people on the impact teams who are doing the work. We know that people in positions of power do not have the time to think through the very complicated questions that are important for our communities, so we do this for them, offering fully baked solutions with buy-in from all major stakeholders - easy political wins that our elected officials want to say “yes” to.
We are not waiting for others to tell us what to do. We know what to do - and we are doing it.
Please consider joining an impact team. If you have questions, contact us with the subject “Impact Team.”
Analysis & Synthesis
Who makes sure that notes from impact team meetings are captured and next steps and follow ups from those meetings happen?
Given the significant alignment with her role at DPS, leadership team member June Marcel is serving in this capacity for now
As we apply for additional grants, it is our intention to be able to expand this staff capacity and compensate people for their time
In the meantime, any additional volunteers are certainly welcome but this is NOT a requirement of impact team participation
