Mission, Vision & Values

Our Mission

We will take tangible action to shift the experiences of Denver’s youth so that over time we sustainably reduce youth involvement with violence and increase supports that build youth and family resilience.

We will adopt a holistic approach that starts from birth, emphasizes prevention efforts targeted at our younger youth, and addresses the underlying factors contributing to violence, considering social, economic, environmental, health, and educational aspects.

Our Vision

We create a container to facilitate connections between members and provide support for things that impact all members, but we do not engage in direct service of youth and families nor do we compete with our members for funding. We have broad representation from school district, city, and community leadership. We can shift systems and structures to enable better collaboration in service of youth and their families.

We are the doers, and we recognize that:

  • Change will require long-term persistent efforts

  • Leaders in the public space cannot provide consistency due to shifting politics and electoral cycles

  • It is up to us to be and advocate for the change we want to see, to create that consistency

  • With a unified voice, we can make it easy for whomever is in power to say “yes” to our vision

  • We have the connections to get our voice heard - the coalition gives us the ability to speak with a unified voice.

Our Values

Every action we take will deepen trust
